No. 5 Auburn took advantage of five turnovers and led Florida 17-0 with 12:09 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Gators' Kerwin Bell capped a 79-yard drive by sneaking in for a touchdown, and Auburn transfer Robert McGinty made a 51-yard field goal to pull the Gators within 17-10.

Florida's final possession resulted in a 5-yard touchdown pass from Bell to Ricky Nattiel, who was playing with a separated shoulder. The Gators went for the two-point conversion, and Bell - still struggling with a knee injury - limped in to score with 35 seconds remaining in the game.
